‍

The FCA transparency regime changed back in December 2025, with ESMA following suit in March 2026. We therefore now have over 5 months of complete data (i.e. having gone through several full 3 month deferral cycles) to look at for both regimes.

‍

Below in Chart 1 we examine deferrals for each regime on a monthly basis, comparing the potential deferral available to the observed publication time.

‍

Key takeaway

The proportion of real-time eligible trades reported late has increased over the year.

ESMA has a 15 minute deferral category and we can see that many real-time eligible trades end up being booked slightly late (and falling into this category). For the FCA, the red bar shows trades reported late (that should be real-time).

‍

Vidal The proportion of real-time activity booked late appears to increase slightly, with more now booked after 15 minutes than when the regime launched.

‍

Helena Since the start of the Iran conflict, US Treasuries have been more active and as there is proportionally more UST volume traded out of the UK, the FCA volumes are higher.
